A bunch of High School students are working on a new rocket engine as a science project. One of them, a brainiac type guy, comes up with a new rocket engine design that is 100 times more powerful than anything ever invented.
Being rebuffed by the scientific community, he secures the assistance of a few of his friends, and, as a science project, they build a space craft, in his garage. It is intended to be a demonstration of the engine's ability.
While they are nearing completion, a block of ice slams into the International Space Station, throwing it out of orbit and injuring a crew member. With no shuttle available the crew is stranded in space. Our teenage genius, with his friends, quickly finish his space craft and a crew of kids, defying a direct order from the Government not to interfere, launch into space anyway, and attempt to rescue the station, and it's crew !
